Two different things get called personalization, and they happen at different moments. Designer-ordered options are chosen when you purchase your gown — we request them from Milla Nova when we place your order on your behalf — and there is often more available than a bride expects, from the bodice and closure to added or reworked detail. None of it is offered on every gown, though, and it varies from style to style; which options your gown allows is confirmed with the designer at the time you purchase, and your consultant handles that on the spot.
In-house alterations are a separate step, and an optional one. Some brides want the fit refined and want the pieces the designer never offered; others do not, and the choice is theirs. For those who want it, our master seamstresses bring 40+ years of alterations expertise, in-house, in the same building where you chose the gown — where beadwork is lifted and reset by hand rather than cut through, a corseted bodice is refitted without losing the line the designer drew, and the gown is never shipped out or handed to someone who has not opened one before. Either way, the gown is ordered in a standard size from Milla Nova’s own size chart, never made to your exact measurements.

Are Milla Nova gowns cut to my measurements?
No. We measure your bust, waist, and hip, and order the size that best fits your largest measurement from Milla Nova’s own size chart. From there, alterations are yours to choose. A gown drawn and built from scratch is a separate service, and one we also offer.
How far ahead should I order a Milla Nova gown?
We recommend ordering 8 to 12 months before your wedding. A Milla Nova gown is couture and takes longer to produce than a standard designer gown, so the earlier end is the safer choice — and if you want alterations, they need time after the gown arrives.
What if my wedding is sooner?
Milla Nova offers rush production on many styles — both a standard rush and a priority rush that produce the gown faster than the regular timeline. What are your payment options?
We offer payment terms with no finance fees. A gown bought from our floor can go on our Layaway Plan; a gown that has to be special ordered has our Special Order Payment Plan instead. Ask a bridal consultant which one fits the gown you choose.
