Why Choose Dimitra Designs for Your Wedding Dress?
Three things set Dimitra Designs apart from a limited sample rack or shopping from photos alone. Scale: a 15,000-square-foot store holding more than 2,500 garments across all our divisions, so you compare in person instead of guessing from a screen. Continuity: the same family and one owner for 30+ years, a BBB A+ accredited business, rated 4.5 stars across more than 1,200 Google reviews, that has dressed daughters, mothers, and now granddaughters across the Carolinas. Curation: founder Dimitra Mandalas selects the collection herself, at market, choosing gowns by touch, never from a catalog. With people who have done this for decades, you get unhurried, personal attention. Book your bridal appointment to see it in person.
What to Expect at Your Bridal Appointment
A bridal appointment at Dimitra Designs is a conversation, not a transaction — reserved, one-on-one time with a senior bridal consultant. Many of ours have 20+ years at Dimitra Designs and have helped dress thousands of brides. She listens first, then pulls with purpose, and gives you honest guidance rather than pressure. Bring your mother, your grandmother, your best friend, or whoever matters most; this is time set aside for you and your people. Not sure whether a fitted gown, an A-line, or a ball gown suits you? That’s exactly the conversation your consultant is here for. And somewhere in the trying-on, the part you dreaded becomes the fun part of wedding planning. Book your appointment in Greenville, SC.
Shop Wedding Dresses by Designer, Silhouette, and Color
Maybe you start with a designer. Maybe you only know you want lace, sleeves, or a silhouette that flatters you. Browse the full floor on our All Wedding Gowns page, or shop by designer: we’re an authorized retailer for Maggie Sottero, Essense of Australia, Stella York, Justin Alexander, and more. Step into elevated bridal in our Couture Collections, or narrow by silhouette, color, plus size, or modest styles.
Wedding Dress Fittings and Alterations
A wedding gown is made to a designer’s size chart. You aren’t — and that’s not a flaw in you or in the dress; it’s the whole reason alterations exist. Our in-house master seamstresses, with 40+ years of craft, are the bridge between the gown you fell for and the one you pictured, adding sleeves, reshaping a neckline, or refining the fit. For most brides, that final fitting is the moment it becomes hers. Learn about in-house alterations.

Wedding Dress FAQs
Do I need an appointment to try on wedding dresses, and can I bring guests?
An appointment is recommended so a senior consultant can give you her full attention and pull gowns suited to you; walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability. Bring the people whose opinions matter most, along with inspiration photos and shoes close to your wedding-day heel height. Your appointment is reserved time set aside for you and your group.
How many wedding dresses does Dimitra Designs carry?
Our Greenville, SC store holds over 1,000 wedding gowns, with 47 fitting rooms, so you can compare silhouettes, fabrics, and designers in a single visit rather than guessing from a handful of samples.
How much do wedding dresses cost at Dimitra Designs?
Wedding gown prices vary by designer, fabric, and detailing, and you’ll find gowns across a wide range of budgets. Your consultant talks budget with you early and helps you compare options that fit yours. No-fee layaway also lets you reserve your gown with scheduled payments, with no finance fee.
How far in advance should I shop for my wedding dress?
Most brides start shopping about nine to twelve months before the wedding; around ten months is the average. That leaves room for three stages: choosing your gown, ordering it (a gown ordered from the designer for production typically takes roughly four to six months), and alterations (usually two to three months of fittings). If your wedding is sooner, many gowns are in stock to take home or arrive within a few weeks.
How does wedding dress sizing work at Dimitra Designs?
We use best-fit sizing: we measure you to each designer’s own size chart and order to your largest measurement, then refine the fit through in-house alterations. Designer gowns are made to standard charts, not to individual measurements, so some alteration is normal. It is never made-to-measure, and never promised as an exact size.
Do you offer wedding dress alterations?
Yes. In-house alterations are available by appointment and priced separately from the gown, with the work quoted at your first fitting. Most brides plan two to three months of fittings before the wedding, and your consultant can help you time it to your date.
Which wedding dress designers does Dimitra Designs carry?
