What It Does on the Body
The corset does the shaping here, not the fabric. Boning runs visibly through the bodice and carries down into a basque waist, so the waistline sits below the natural one and your torso reads longer before the skirt begins. The shaped cups build the bust support into the gown, so there is less to think about underneath it. Above the waist everything is close and structured; below it, Mikado holds the skirt out and away from you, so the volume is in the skirt rather than on you.
The Detail That Decides It
The front of the corset. Whisper is made with either pearls or buttons down the bodice, and the back is built with either a zipper or a lace-up. Those are chosen when you buy the gown and confirmed with Milla Nova at that point, so two brides can order this same style and end up with gowns that look noticeably different.
