Twenty-five years with the Mon Cheri house
Martin Thornburg is a Mon Cheri Bridals label, and we have carried this house for twenty-five years. Our senior bridal consultants have spent 20+ years at Dimitra Designs, and they have been fitting Mon Cheri gowns for most of that time. They know where a semi-sheer corset bodice needs support and where it does not, how heavy beadwork changes the way a trumpet skirt hangs, and which gowns take detachable sleeves without fighting them. Our master seamstresses work these fabrics and embellishments constantly — the beading is moved rather than cut through, and the designer’s line is protected while the fit is refined for the bride who will wear it.
Designer options and in-house alterations
Some choices belong to the designer and are made when the gown is ordered — detachable sleeves, and the finishes a given style offers. Others belong to us, once the gown arrives: the fit, the hem, the bodice settled onto your body through in-house alterations. Your consultant will tell you which applies to the gown you love. Either way, the gown is ordered in a standard size from the designer’s own size chart and fitted to you here, never made to your exact measurements.
Dressing the mothers from the same house
Mon Cheri dresses more than the bride. The mothers can wear Montage, Cameron Blake, or Ivonne D — all Mon Cheri labels, all on our floor, all fitted by the same seamstresses who will fit your gown. Fabrics and colors come from one house, which is why they photograph as a family rather than as a coincidence.
