One Dress, One School: Our Dress Registry
When you buy your prom dress at Dimitra Designs, we register it to your school. For pageant, we register it to your school or your pageant. Once your dress is registered, we won’t sell the same dress in the same color to another girl from your school. The registry covers dresses bought at Dimitra Designs, not at other stores or online.
How does the registry work?
- When you buy, your dress is registered to your school or pageant, and its tag shows where it was sold.
- Before another girl buys, her Prom Stylist asks which school she attends and checks the tag.
- If that dress is already registered to her school, she chooses a different dress.
Why does it matter?
- Your dress, in your color, won’t be sold here to another girl from your school.
- You can stop searching once you find the dress you love.

Dimitra Designs is the Bridal & Formalwear Destination of the Carolinas, at 303 N Pleasantburg Dr, Greenville, SC 29607. We are about an hour from Asheville, and girls come from Western North Carolina, Spartanburg and Anderson to try everything in one visit. Weekdays are the quietest time to shop.
Regular hours: Monday to Friday 10 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM, Sunday 1 PM to 4 PM.
Seasonal hours, January to March: Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, Sunday 1 PM to 5 PM.

Prom & Pageant FAQs
Do I need an appointment to shop for prom or pageant dresses?
No appointment is needed for prom. Prom shopping at Dimitra Designs is walk-in, first come, first served. If you’d like more time with a stylist, or a busy Saturday runs short, come back on a weekday, when the store is quieter. From January to April, weekend dressing rooms are held for one hour per girl.
What if my size or color isn’t on the rack?
Most prom and pageant dresses at Dimitra Designs are on the floor in one size and one color, so you can try the style first. If it comes in your size or color, we can order it from the designer, and a stylist confirms it is still available and can arrive before your event.
Do you carry plus-size prom dresses?
Yes. Dimitra Designs carries plus-size prom and pageant dresses in regular sizes 18 to 22 and women’s sizes 12W to 24W. A W size is cut with more room through the bust, waist and hips than the regular size with the same number, so we measure you and follow the designer’s chart. Every silhouette sits together in one plus-size section.

The registry covers dresses bought at Dimitra Designs, so a stylist checks your school before you choose.
Can my prom dress be altered?
Yes. Alterations at Dimitra Designs in Greenville, SC are separate and optional, and they go beyond hems. Depending on how a dress is built, our seamstresses can change a zipper to a lace-up back for more room, add side panels that blend into the seams, raise a neckline, close a slit, or widen the straps for more support.
When should I start shopping for my prom or pageant dress?
Late December and January are the best time: most new prom styles have arrived, and Christmas break is ideal. Prom dresses are made in limited numbers, so shopping early gives you the widest choice and comfortable time for ordering and alterations. For pageant, plan around your competition date, and a Dimitra Designs stylist can help you time it.
Can I pay for my prom dress over time?
Yes. If you need more time, Dimitra Designs offers payment terms with no finance fees: a Layaway Plan for a dress from our floor and a Special Order Payment Plan for a dress ordered from the designer. The terms are on our layaway plan page, and a Dimitra Designs stylist will walk you through them before you commit.
