About Christina Wu
Christina Wu is the bridal label of House of Wu, an international design house, and the collection is unapologetically bold. Decadent beading, chunky crystals, 3D embroidery, and 3D floral appliqués sit on luxurious lace, tulle, and crepe. The silhouettes range from grand ball gowns to sleek sheath lines, with A-line and mermaid shapes between them. It is a collection designed for an entrance.
The two bridal lines
We carry Christina Wu Brides, the main bridal collection, and Christina Wu Elegance, its more understated sibling. Both come from the same house and share its construction standards; what changes is how loudly a gown announces itself. A consultant can pull from both in one appointment, which is usually how a bride discovers which of the two she actually is.
One of the first houses we ever carried
House of Wu has been on this floor since close to the beginning of Dimitra Designs, and that length of relationship is the difference. Our senior bridal consultants have spent 20+ years at Dimitra Designs and know this house’s sizing, its silhouettes, and the way a heavily beaded bodice behaves once it is on a real body. Our master seamstresses handle that beadwork constantly — crystal and 3D embroidery is moved rather than cut through, and the designer’s line is protected while the fit is refined for the bride who will wear it.
Designer options and in-house alterations
Some choices are made when the gown is ordered — the designer-ordered options a Christina Wu style offers. Others are in-house alterations, handled after the gown arrives: the fit, the hem, a neckline adjusted, sleeves added through our alterations team. Your consultant will tell you which applies to the gown you love. Either way, the gown is ordered in a standard size from the designer’s own size chart and fitted to you here, never made to your exact measurements.
Bridesmaids from the same house
House of Wu dresses more than the bride. Your bridesmaids can wear Christina Wu Celebration, the same house’s bridesmaid collection, and it is fitted by the same seamstresses who will fit your gown. Fabrics and colors come from one design house, which is why they photograph as a family rather than as a coincidence.
What brides ask about Christina Wu
What is the difference between Christina Wu Brides and Christina Wu Elegance?
Both are bridal lines from House of Wu. Brides is the bolder collection — heavier beading, more drama. Elegance is the quieter one. The construction standards are shared, so the choice is about how much attention you want the gown itself to draw.
Are Christina Wu gowns very heavy?
Some are, and it is worth knowing before you fall in love. Crystal beading and 3D embroidery add real weight, and a heavily beaded gown moves, sits, and dances differently from a plain crepe. Wear one for a few minutes at your appointment before you decide.
Can sleeves or a neckline be changed on a beaded gown?
Often, through our in-house alterations. Working around dense beadwork is careful work rather than impossible work, and our seamstresses do it constantly. What is possible depends on the specific gown, so bring the style to your appointment and ask.
What is House of Wu?
The international design house behind Christina Wu. It has built its reputation on quality design and long partnerships with retailers, and it was one of the first houses Dimitra Designs carried. Buying from an authorized retailer is what guarantees the gown is authentic.
Can my bridesmaids wear Christina Wu too?
Yes. Christina Wu Celebration is the house’s bridesmaid collection, and we carry it here, so the bridal party and the bride can be dressed from one design house and fitted in one building.
