Summer Wedding Dresses: Trends to Watch

Posted by Dimitra Designs on Jul 5th 2018

Every year, the style experts at Dimitra Designs sit down and make their predictions for the upcoming season’s hottest trends. This year, when we started thinking about summer 2019 wedding dresses, we saw a lot of trends come to mind. If you’re curious on our best style picks for summer 2019 wedding dresses, check out our list of trends to watch. You’ll be sure to find a gown that’ll be the cutting edge of style, not to mention, totally timely!

Off the Shoulder Necklines: As summer wedding dresses go, this trend is our favorite. It’s about time that off the shoulder necklines had their moment! To look stylish for your summer wedding, consider the Watters Wedding Gowns. With an empire waist, floral accents, lots of lace, and off the shoulder neckline, you’ll like a goddess as you walk down the aisle. Plus, the comfortable silhouette will be great for dancing the night away!

Beaded Bodices: We’ve been seeing more and more gowns with heavily beaded bodices and minimalist skirts on runways and down aisles. To capture this trend, we recommend this fitted drop waist A-line gown from Allure. As one of our favorite summer wedding dresses, this gorgeous gown features a fully crystal beaded dropped waist bodice, buttons all the way down the train, and a pretty sweetheart neckline.

Cap Sleeves: Cap sleeves remind us of princesses and if you’re looking to find the perfect gown to make you feel like you’re in a fairy tale on your big day, then we suggest trying out this trend for summer  wedding dresses. Our favorite? This silk taffeta Allure gown, which offers pretty lace cap sleeves, a sweetheart bodice, and crystal appliqué accenting.

Slits: At the Golden Globes, we saw a popular trend emerge that we expect to see even more on summer wedding dresses: slits. On the side or in the front, slits can add a dash of sexiness to any wedding gown. To capture this trend, try this sleek fishtail Justin Alexander bridal gown. Dramatic blank and white accents, a one shouldered silhouette, and lots of satin make this gown a decadent choice for the summer bride.

Hi-Low Dresses: Featuring a hemline that is high in the front and low in the back, hi-low dresses have been a favorite on runways and red carpets alike. Our favorite dresses to capture this trend include this destination wedding dress , which is cute, strapless, and informal (and perfect for backyard weddings this summer!).

In the selection of gowns at Dimitra Designs, you’ll find summer wedding dresses that can meet just about every trend on this list (but not at the same time, of course!). Shop our selection today to find designer and couture favorites that can help you create the wedding day look of your dreams.
